Vastu

Introduction

The Vastu shashtra is a traditional Indian system regarding house building or a unit in which we dwell. Vas is an original word in Hindi which means live. Shashtra mean the source in which the doctrine depicted. Later on it is considered as a science of architecture. These are the principles of design, layout, and measurements of land or plot of a spatial geometry. Basically if we go with nature that really means POSITIVE energy we get through. There are four directions e.g. East, West, North and South. Four corners or angle directions which are North-East(Eishan), South-East(Agni), South-West(Neritye) and North-West(Vavyey). There is a sanskrit shloka which is called “Raksha-Mantra” indicated the God who protect us from that direction.

The use of Vastu shastra and Vastu consultants in modern home and public projects is controversial. Some architects, particularly during India’s colonial era, considered it arcane and superstitious. Other architects state that critics have not read the texts and that most of the text is about flexible design guidelines for space, sunlight, flow and function. As per this explanation we should construct rooms or any partition in the house as per inlet energy source like Kitchen in south-east corner because of fire energy angle and so on. Where to worship the God in a house, is the most problem found now a days. So it should be in North-East corner of the house.
